Family photos North East
Once upon a time, I did family shoots in a studio. This one day I photographed 3-year-old twin boys. One twin was up for anything the other up for nothing. We cajoled, bribed, begged this twin, but nothing worked. So we decided to do it all again the following week. This time the boys swapped over and the reluctant twin was totally co-operative and the other not at all. We carried on with the shoot nevertheless.
After the shoot I spent hours in photoshop joining pictures together so it looked like both twins were loving the shoot at the same time. Dad finally got the images he wanted but it took some doing.
Today the studio is long gone and instead we use your home as a backdrop. And place no expectations on kids. We just let them do what they do. If they are having a bit of a grumpy day, it’s cool. Because they’re in their own space with their own stuff and are getting lots of attention they come out of their grumpy mood no problem.
This is my third shoot with the wonderful Farrow Family. This time with their new little one 3 month old Eddie.
Nicola and Matthew love the whole idea of a natural photo shoot, capturing their life as it is right now. Today we captured Kit in his tent with ‘his gang’, lining up his Night Garden characters for a story and playing his animal card games. Little Eddie, took his morning nap, had his feet kissed, a floor tickle and was thrown in the air.
All things that will fade into something else in months to come but which has been captured for a beautiful record of this wonderful time.
