A family photo shoot Darlington.
It’s a big deal when our kids learn to walk, and we usually have a story about it. My daughter learned to walk when she was 9 months old. She went from sitting to standing to walking. No rolling or crawling for this kid. I remember going to Clarks for her shoes, and the shop assistant was aghast at my walking baby.
Taliah’s walk story is that it’s all she did once she learned to do it. It became her new favourite thing, so she did it all day, tromping around from waking up to lights out. No reading, TV, games on the floor could distract her from walking.
And that’s all she did on her shoot. Under a warm July sun, Taliah walked backwards and forwards over a green wood bridge, again and again. She cannily swerved her dad’s waiting arms several times, and unless she was being swung in the air squirmed out of being held. It was so funny to see.
Soon Taliah will have another favourite thing to do and she’ll move on from her non-stop walking. But her parents Selma and Stuart now have a set of images to go with her learning to walk story. And this is what I love most about these natural family shoots – they capture real moments, real emotions and your children’s unique stories.
