I love doing natural newborn photography in family’s own homes. I love the realness of these photo shoots
I love how almost effortless they are for parents. I love how relaxed people feel in a short space of time.
I love the busy and unpredictable newborn shoots and I love the quiet and peaceful ones. And I love all the ones in between.
I love just going with the flow.
I love hearing that parents find a natural newborn shoot surprisingly east. I love that reluctant dads LOVE the shoot. Not really. But I love that it is never as bad as they think it’s going to be.
I love the feeling of freshness and newness in the home of the first few weeks of a newborn’s life.
I love how little siblings can just be themselves. I love seeing them showing off their newborn brother or sister then quickly becoming bored and going off to play with their toys. I love that when mum is feeding I can take myself off and photograph them playing in their room.
I love it when baby is awake. I love it when baby is asleep. I love that it doesn’t matter. I love this because it means there is no pressure at all on parents.
I love that I am capturing a moment in time that flies by, that will very soon be no more. I love that in years to come baby will be able to see what life looked like when they were newly born. I love that 2 weeks after the shoot parents look at their photographs and see that things have changed already. I love how grateful they are that they booked a natural newborn photo shoot when they did.
I love that because these photo shoots are in their own home the photographs will be unique and not like any other family’s newborn photographs.
I love being able to photograph everything that is going on, nappy changing, feeding, people just being with each other and quiet moments with newborn.
I love how I don’t need to bring props, ribbons, bows, headbands, hats, cushions, blankets to these sessions. I love that I just bring my camera.
This is newborn Oliver and his lovely family’s gallery. Mum Danielle, dad Chris and Seb. Seb is like 5 years old going on 70 and so funny with it. And he has a thing for ears as you’ll see 🙂
